I had a short call with Jeff Walker and Jay Simons, introducing them to the basic goals of the Open Enterprise 2009 project and they gave me some insights from their perspective at Atlassian.

Jeff believes that companies are sharpening their pencils more than ever and are looking for very practical solutions to near-term issues. I can’t disagree. He also thinks that with market ‘consolidation’ — where some companies’ businesses come under stress — competition is going to heat up. Absolutely.
