Today Avistar Communications announced it has entered into a deal with LifeSize Communications to integrate Avistar’s technology into LifeSize’s HD room-based systems. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is good news for customers of both companies, who can now expect a wider array of video conferencing options.
Separately, I recently learned of Avistar’s C3 Mobile Teamroom, which basically lets you take a video conferencing on the go. The system includes a high-end speaker/microphone and camera, and it works with just about any screen–including, say, that giant TV in your hotel room. Desktop video is perfect for mobile users of course, but now, executives can get a really high-quality video conferencing experiencing when they really need it (and without checking another bag!).
Thanksto a “Green Workday” promotion with Yamaha, Avistar is offering the C3 Mobile product at a special rate of $699–a full $500 off the list price of $1199.
